Legal Fund
The legal fund is for the purposes of retaining and paying for the services of experienced and competent attorneys and has been used to challenge BFI/Allied Waste/Republic Industries and the permitting agencies whenever the need arose. We have on behalf of our community, sued the City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, and the Integrated Waste Management Board (now CalRecycle) over various issues ranging from the City and the County expansions to the use of contaminated green waste.
BFI and its subsequent owners have many lawyers and millions of dollars at their disposal. As ordinary citizens we do not have the money the kind of money that they do, so we must depend on each other to raise money. If you contribute and indicate that you want to donate to the legal fund, the funds will be set aside for that purpose. Please remember that unlike donations to the NVC, the donations to the legal fund are not tax deductible.
